Decadent and rich German chocolate cake, turned upside down for a unique and delicious twist.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package German chocolate cake mix without pudding
  • 1 cup flaked coconut
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 4 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 6 tablespoons cola-flavored carbonated beverage
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
Instructions:
  • Follow the instructions on the cake mix package to prepare.
  • Grease a 9 x 13 inch baking pan, then sprinkle coconut and nuts over the bottom. Pour the cake batter on top.
  • Mix together 1/2 cup melted butter or margarine, cream cheese, and 2 cups confectioners' sugar until smooth. Drizzle over cake batter.
  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) until toothpick comes out clean, about 45 minutes. Allow cake to cool before adding frosting.
  • Create a luscious frosting by heating cocoa, cola, and 1/2 cup of margarine in a saucepan until boiling, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and pour over the remaining confectioners' sugar. Beat until smooth. Spread the icing over the cake. For a thicker icing, simply add more confectioners' sugar to achieve your desired consistency.
