Decadent Snickers and dark chocolate cake with cream cheese, coconut, and a surprise lava-like filling.
Ingredients:
  • 21.25 gm desiccated coconut
  • 4 x 50g Snickers bars, sliced
  • 47.50 gm dark choc bits
  • 250g cream cheese, chopped
  • 60g butter, chopped
  • 75.00 gm icing sugar mixture
  • 340g bag chocolate cake mix
  • 169.95 gm milk
  • 36.80 gm vegetable oil
  • 300ml thickened cream, whipped, to serve
  • 125.00 ml caramel sauce, to serve
  • 82.50 ml broken pretzels, to serve
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 180C/160C fan-forced and generously grease a 20cm x 30cm baking dish with a 5cm depth.
  • Evenly coat the base of the prepared dish with a generous sprinkle of coconut. Arrange the Snickers bars and chocolate bits on top of the coconut layer.
  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine cream cheese and butter. Stir for 5 minutes until cream cheese is smooth and butter is melted, creating a slightly separated mixture. Whisk in the icing sugar and set aside.
  • Combine cake mix, eggs, milk, and oil in a bowl and whisk until well combined. Pour the mixture over the Snickers in the dish, then drizzle with the cream cheese mixture. Swirl the mixture slightly with a butter knife to create a marbled effect. Bake for 35 minutes until the cake is just set (mixture will still wobble slightly in the center), then let it stand for 10 minutes before serving.
  • Enjoy your cake while it's warm, topped with fluffy whipped cream, drizzled with luscious caramel sauce, and sprinkled with crunchy pretzels.
