Make deep-fried ice cream at home in the air fryer with a decadent Caramilk sauce for a nostalgic treat.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5L good-quality vanilla ice cream
  • 300g plain digestive biscuits, crushed
  • 30.90 gm milk
  • 180g Caramilk chocolate, finely chopped
  • 185ml (3/4 cup) thickened cream
Instructions:
  • Chill a baking tray in the freezer for 10 minutes.
  • Prepare a lined tray with baking paper. Swiftly shape the ice-cream into 12 balls and arrange them on the tray. Freeze for 4 hours or until solid.
  • In a large shallow bowl, spread the crushed biscuits. Roll each ice-cream ball in the biscuits, ensuring they are fully coated, then gently shake off any extra. Place back on the tray and freeze for 1 more hour, or until solid.
  • Combine eggs and milk in a bowl and whisk thoroughly. Dip each ball first in the egg mixture, then in the crushed biscuits until evenly coated. Place back on the tray and freeze for 1 hour or until firm. Refrigerate any unused egg mixture.
  • Double-coat the remaining balls with the egg mixture and crushed biscuit. Freeze overnight until very firm.
  • While you wait, prepare the Caramilk sauce by mixing the chocolate and cream in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on High for 1½ minutes or until the chocolate is melted. Stir until smooth.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 200°C for 5 minutes. Next, place 2 scoops of ice cream on a small piece of parchment paper that fits just right to lift the ice cream easily. Give a gentle spray of oil over the ice cream.
  • Cook in the air fryer at 200°C for 2 minutes, then transfer the balls to serving plates and generously drizzle with luscious Caramilk sauce before serving immediately.
