Make a delightful late summer fruit crumble with blackberries, apples, and pears. Enjoy warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1.5 cups lowfat margarine
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 3 apples - peeled, cored, and cut into wedges
  • 3 pears - peeled, cored, and cut into wedges
  • 1 cup blackberries
Instructions:
  • - Preheat the oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), then generously grease three 9-inch pie tins.
  • Combine the flour, margarine, and sugar in a bowl, and use your hands to create a crumbly mixture.
  • Arrange the apples and pears in the 3 pie tins, then scatter the blackberries over them. Sprinkle the flour mixture evenly over the fruit.
  • Enjoy the aroma of the fruit softening and the topping turning a golden brown as it bakes in the preheated oven for approximately 40 minutes.
