Easy apple strudel with sweet apple and raisin filling wrapped in golden puff pastry - a show-stopping fall dessert!
Ingredients:
  • 1 Granny Smith apple - peeled, cored and coarsely shredded
  • 3 Granny Smith apples - peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup golden raisins
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 egg
  • 0.25 cup milk
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and elegantly line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Combine shredded and chopped apples in a large bowl along with brown sugar, golden raisins, flour, and salt. Let it sit while you prepare the rest of the recipe.
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll out one sheet of puff pastry into a 10- x 12-inch rectangle. Spread half of the apple filling (about 3 cups) in a line down the length of the pastry.
  • Fold the pastry over the apple mixture, seal edges by dampening with water and pressing or crimping. Repeat with the second pastry sheet and remaining apple mixture.
  • Place the pastries on the baking sheet with enough space in between. Combine the egg and milk in a small bowl, then brush the mixture on top of each pastry. Lastly, make 3 or 4 slits on the top of each pastry to release steam during baking.
  • Bake until beautifully golden brown, for about 30 to 35 minutes in the preheated oven.
  • Enjoy your beautifully sliced dish and indulge!
