Irresistible brown butter cookies with a decadent, buttery flavor sure to win over your family's hearts.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Instructions:
  • Melt butter in a skillet over gentle heat until it turns golden brown and develops a nutty aroma, around 5 minutes. Transfer the browned butter to a heatproof bowl to cool to room temperature, approximately 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  • Combine the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  • Combine brown sugar with cooled, creamy butter, blending until smooth; add eggs and vanilla extract and mix thoroughly. Gently fold flour mixture into the butter mixture until dough forms. Shape dough into small balls and gently flatten with a hand or fork. Place cookies on the baking sheet.
  • Bake the cookies in the preheated oven until the tops are firm and the edges are golden, which takes about 8 to 10 minutes. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 3 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
