Effortless cabbage roll casserole with classic flavors.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 pounds ground beef
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 (14 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper
  • 0.5 cup white rice
  • 4 cups shredded cabbage
  • 8 slices bacon
Instructions:
  • Prepare all your ingredients.
  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) and generously grease an 8x12-inch baking dish.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sauté ground beef in vegetable oil until evenly browned and no longer pink, about 8 to 10 minutes. Remove and discard any excess grease after cooking.
  • Combine the onions, water, tomato sauce, garlic, salt, and black pepper in a pot and bring to a gentle simmer. Mix in the rice, cover, and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Layer half of the shredded cabbage at the bottom of the baking dish followed by half of the beef mixture. Repeat the layers, then top with bacon. Cover the dish with aluminum foil.
  • Roast in a hot oven until the bacon is crispy and the cabbage is tender, approximately 1 1/2 hours.
