Create a gourmet chicken quiche with Gouda cheese using leftover chicken for a quick and easy dinner.
Ingredients:
  • 3 eggs
  • 1.5 cups heavy cream
  • cooking spray
  • 1 frozen puff pastry - thawed, unfolded, and lightly rolled
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup chopped green onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1.5 cups chopped cooked chicken
  • 0.5 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 0.5 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 cups shredded Gouda cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and generously grease a 9-inch pie dish with cooking spray.
  • Place the puff pastry in the pie dish, making sure to cover the base and sides. Trim any extra pastry hanging over the edges. Then, spread a layer of Dijon mustard on the bottom of the pastry.
  • In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté green onions until tender, approximately 5 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute. Add chicken and cook for an additional minute.
  • Combine eggs, heavy cream, salt, nutmeg, black pepper, and Italian seasoning, whisking until smooth in a bowl.
  • Spread half of the Gouda cheese over the puff pastry, followed by the chicken mixture. Pour in the egg mixture and finish by sprinkling the remaining Gouda cheese on top.
  • "Bake in the preheated oven until golden and fully cooked, approximately 25 minutes."
