Authentic chimichurri sauce: A vibrant blend of fresh herbs, garlic, and olive oil. Perfect for marinating or drizzling over grilled meats.
Ingredients:
  • 0.25 cup hot water
  • 2 tablespoons dried oregano
  • 1 cup chopped fresh parsley, or more to taste
  • 0.66666668653488 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 6 cloves garlic
  • 1 shallot, roughly chopped
  • 1 red jalapeno pepper, chopped
  • 0.5 cup red wine vinegar
  • 0.75 cup extra virgin olive oil
Instructions:
  • Mix water, fragrant oregano, and a pinch of salt in a small bowl, letting the oregano infuse for 15 minutes until soft.
  • In a food processor, blend parsley, cilantro, garlic, shallot, and jalapeno until finely chopped. Add the water-oregano mixture and red wine vinegar, then pulse until well combined. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and whisk in olive oil until smooth and creamy.
  • Allow the chimichurri sauce to rest, allowing the flavors to blend beautifully, for approximately 1 hour at room temperature.
