Crispy fried scallops coated in buttermilk and seasoned flour for a delicious, easy seafood dish the whole family will love.
Ingredients:
  • 4 cups vegetable oil for frying
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 tablespoon salt
  • 0.5 tablespoon ground black pepper
  • 12 large fresh scallops
Instructions:
  • Bring the oil to a sizzling 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) in a deep fryer or large saucepan.
  • In a bowl, pour buttermilk. In a separate bowl, mix flour, salt, and pepper. Dip 4 to 5 scallops in buttermilk, then coat generously in flour mixture.
  • Fry coated scallops in hot oil until they turn golden and crispy, for about 3 to 4 minutes. Place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Repeat the process with the rest of the scallops.
