Make restaurant-style Chinese dishes at home easily and affordably.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons chili garlic sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 egg white
  • 10 oz boneless skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-size pieces (about 3 chicken thighs)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 bunch broccoli florets, cut into bite-size pieces (about 3 cups)
  • 6 green onions, thinly sliced on the bias (2/3 cup)
  • 2 cups cooked white rice
Instructions:
  • Combine chili garlic sauce, sugar, and vinegar in a small bowl and set aside. In a large bowl, whisk together flour and cornstarch and set aside.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together egg white and soy sauce. Add chicken pieces and mix well to coat. Dredge chicken in flour mixture, ensuring each piece is evenly coated. Place coated chicken on a plate, discarding any excess egg and flour.
  • Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Cook the chicken for 6 to 7 minutes, flipping once, until it is crispy and golden brown. Use a spatula to separate any chicken pieces that stick together.
  • Toss broccoli in the skillet for 3 to 4 minutes until tender and slightly browned. Ensure the chicken is fully cooked. Pour in the chili garlic sauce mixture and cook for an additional 1 to 2 minutes until everything is nicely coated. Finish by adding green onions and giving everything a final stir.
  • Spoon the fluffy rice into 4 bowls, then generously top each with the savory chicken mixture.
