Simplify your dinner with Easy Steak Fajitas: grill seasoned steak and veggies in foil packets for a quick and tasty meal in just 10 minutes, perfect for family dinners, BBQs, or camping.
Ingredients:
  • Fajita Spice Mix:
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • For the fajitas:
  • 1 1/2 pounds steak, skirt, flank, or strip (no more than 1-inch thick)
  • 1 large green pepper, sliced thin
  • 1 large red pepper, sliced thin
  • 1 medium sweet onion, sliced thin
  • 4 teaspoons olive oil
  • 10-12 medium flour tortillas
  • DAD ADD — Lime Cumin Sour Cream:
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 lime, zest and juice
  • Pinch of salt
  • To serve:
  • Avocado
  • Salsa
  • Hot sauce
Instructions:
  • Prepare the fajita spice mix by mixing kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, and chili powder in a small bowl.
  • Prepare a flavorful vegetable foil pack by layering sliced peppers and onions on a double layer of foil. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of fajita seasoning, then seal the packet tightly by folding and crimping the edges.
  • Generously coat both sides of the steak with the flavorful seasoning mix, using about 3/4 teaspoon on each side.
  • Preheat the grill to 450°F for high heat grilling.
  • Grill the veggie packet and steak: When the grill is hot, cook the veggie packet and steak over high, direct heat. Grill the steak for 4 minutes on one side, then flip and grill for 5 to 7 minutes more for a medium to medium-rare doneness. Once done, remove from the grill and let cool briefly before serving.
  • Prepare Tangy Lime Sour Cream (optional): Mix sour cream with zest, juice from 1 lime, cumin, and salt in a small bowl. Enjoy with the fajitas.
  • Thinly slice the steak against the grain.
  • Serve the steak and veggies fajitas straight from the foil packet with a side of flour tortillas. If the foil feels flimsy, transfer the contents to a serving platter.
