Easy-to-decorate mummy cupcakes, perfect for spooky Halloween parties.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package devil's food cake mix (such as Duncan Hines®)
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 eggs
  • 0.33333334326744 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 (16 ounce) can vanilla frosting
  • 48 chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and line two 12-cup muffin tins with dark-colored or Halloween-themed paper liners.
  • In a large bowl, blend cake mix, water, eggs, and oil using an electric mixer on low speed until moistened for approximately 30 seconds. Increase speed to medium and beat until batter is smooth and creamy, about 2 minutes. Fill prepared muffin cups 3/4 full with the batter.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 18 to 21 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the cupcakes cool in the tins on a wire rack for 15 minutes, then transfer them to the rack to cool completely for about 1 hour before decorating.
  • Fill a pastry bag or a plastic bag with the corner cut off with frosting. Pipe strands of frosting onto the top and bottom of the cupcakes, leaving an oval eye shape in the middle. Create the mummy's eyes by piping 2 dots in the exposed middle, then place 2 flat-side up chocolate chips in the middle of each dot for the pupils.
