Indulge in this decadent lobster bisque made with imitation lobster - a rich and creamy favorite in the making.
Ingredients:
  • 4 medium onions, chopped
  • 1.5 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 6 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon seafood seasoning (such as Old Bay®)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 24 ounces imitation lobster meat
  • 0.75 cup white wine
  • 1 pinch ground paprika, or to taste
Instructions:
  • In a large pot, sauté onions in 1/2 cup of chicken broth over medium heat for 5 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook for an additional 2 minutes. Lower the heat, pour in the rest of the chicken broth, and allow it to simmer.
  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter. Stir in the flour until a creamy mixture forms. Gradually pour the roux into the simmering broth mixture, whisking continuously. Add milk, cream, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, seafood seasoning, salt, and cayenne pepper. Cook until thickened, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Add imitation lobster to a food processor and pulse 6 times.
  • Gently simmer imitation lobster and wine in soup until warmed, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Pour soup into bowls and delicately dust with paprika for a vibrant touch.
