Enhance orange cake with ricotta cheese, orange juice, and zest for bold flavors.
Ingredients:
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 (15.25 ounce) package orange cake mix (such as Duncan Hines® Orange Supreme)
  • 1 cup whole-milk ricotta cheese
  • 0.33333334326744 cup canola oil
  • 0.25 cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon grated orange zest
  • 0.5 teaspoon orange extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice, or as needed
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and prepare a fluted tube pan by greasing and flouring it.
  • In a large bowl, mix together cake mix, eggs, ricotta cheese, oil, orange juice, orange zest, and orange extract until well combined. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  • Bake in the oven until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, for 45 to 55 minutes. Then, let it cool in the pan for 15 minutes before gently flipping it onto a serving platter to cool completely, which should take about 1 hour.
  • Create a delightful glaze by combining powdered sugar, orange juice, and orange zest in a small bowl. Generously drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake.
