Indulge in a buttery peppermint candy cookie for a sweet treat.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ Sugar Cookie Mix
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/4 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 tub (12 oz) Betty Crocker™ Whipped Fluffy White Frosting
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • Betty Crocker™ red decorating sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Combine cookie mix, butter, egg, and flour in a large bowl until a dough forms. Roll dough into 1 1/4-inch balls and place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Gently flatten with the bottom of a glass.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until edges are lightly golden brown. Allow to cool for 1 minute before transferring to a wire rack. Let cool completely for about 20 minutes before serving.
  • Combine the frosting and peppermint extract in a small bowl. Spread the frosting on each cookie, then use a small spoon to sprinkle red sugar in a spiral design to resemble peppermint candies.
