Make ahead cookie dough - freeze for future use when unexpected cookie requests arise! Perfect for busy days.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions:
  • In a medium bowl, cream together butter, white sugar, and brown sugar. Add eggs and vanilla, then mix well. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, cinnamon, and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture, then stir in nuts. Divide dough into 3 parts, shape each into 1 1/2-inch diameter logs. Wrap in wax paper and chill for at least 3 hours or overnight.
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Slice the dough logs into 1/4 inch thick pieces and place them on a baking sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until lightly browned.
