Create a flavorful slow cooker pork dish for a special dinner and save the leftovers for tasty sandwiches.
Ingredients:
  • 2kg pork shoulder, skin scored
  • 4 garlic cloves, quartered lengthways
  • 10.00 gm smoked paprika
  • 10.00 gm ground cumin
  • 2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp whole fennel seeds
  • 1 brown onion, thinly sliced
Instructions:
  • With a sharp knife, score the pork and gently tuck garlic slivers into the cuts. Massage the meat with a flavorful blend of spices and seeds before seasoning generously.
  • Layer onions at the bottom of the slow-cooker, then add pork on top. Cook covered on low for 8 hours until pork is tender and falls off the bone. Transfer pork to a clean board, remove skin and excess fat, then shred using two forks. Mix in desired amount of cooking liquid to moisten the pork.
