Savory spaghetti pie with a buttery pasta crust, filled with tangy cottage cheese, and a flavorful meat and veggie sauce.
Ingredients:
  • butter for greasing
  • 1 (6 ounce) package spaghetti
  • 0.33333331346512 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 0.25 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 0.5 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease a 10-inch pie plate with 1 tablespoon of butter.
  • 1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti until al dente, stirring occasionally, for about 12 minutes. Drain the spaghetti in a colander and return it to the pot.
  • Combine Parmesan cheese, beaten eggs, and 2 tablespoons of butter with hot spaghetti until fully mixed. Press the spaghetti mixture into a pie plate to create a crust. Set aside.
  • 1. Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook beef, onion, bell pepper, and garlic until beef is crumbly and browned (about 5-7 minutes). Remove excess fat, then add undrained tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, and oregano. Simmer until heated through, stirring occasionally.
  • Layer the creamy cottage cheese over the spaghetti crust before generously pouring in the flavorful beef-tomato mixture.
  • Bake in the oven until golden brown, then sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top and bake for an additional 5 minutes until gooey and melty.
