Easy, savory spaghetti sauce pie with a cheesy egg topping, baked until golden. Serve with a side of tomato cocktail sauce for a delicious twist.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (9 inch) pie shell
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 0.25 cup chopped onion
  • 0.25 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 0.5 cup tomato sauce
  • 0.5 cup dried bread crumbs, seasoned
  • 0.5 teaspoon seasoning salt
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 0.25 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground white pepper
  • 0.5 cup cocktail sauce
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until no longer pink. Add onion and green pepper and saute until onion starts to brown, about 5 minutes. Stir in 1/2 cup tomato sauce, bread crumbs, and seasoning salt. Transfer mixture to a pastry shell.
  • Combine cheese, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, and white pepper in a medium bowl. Spread this flavorful mixture over the meat filling, then cover the edges of the crust with strips of aluminum foil.
  • Preheat the oven and bake for 15 minutes. Uncover and bake for another 15 minutes until the topping is golden and puffy. Let it rest for 10 to 15 minutes before serving. Combine 1/2 cup of tomato sauce with cocktail sauce to make a garnish sauce. Drizzle each slice with a spoonful of the sauce before serving.
