Effortlessly delicious sugar cookie bars: no rolling, no cutting needed. Just spread, bake, frost, and enjoy!
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup butter, at room temperature
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2.5 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 cup butter, softened
  • 0.5 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 3.5 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 3 tablespoons milk, or more as needed
  • 3 drops green food coloring
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease a 13x18-inch rimmed baking sheet.
  • In a large bowl, blend together white sugar, 1 cup butter, 8 ounces cream cheese, and egg using an electric mixer for about 4 minutes until well combined. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and almond extract, then mix in flour, baking powder, and baking soda until dough forms.
  • Spread the dough evenly onto the greased baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until lightly golden for about 20 minutes. Allow to cool completely for 10 to 20 minutes.
  • Cream together 1/2 cup of butter and 4 ounces of cream cheese until smooth. Beat in confectioners' sugar, then thin the icing with milk and vanilla extract. Divide the icing between 2 bowls and mix green food coloring into one bowl.
  • Frost cookies with green icing and cut into 48 squares. Fill a resealable plastic bag with white icing, snip a corner, and drizzle over cookies.
