Loaded burgers with crispy bacon, Cheddar cheese, and Thousand Island-mayo spread, a twist on egg-in-a-hole toasts.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Thousand Island dressing
  • 8 strips bacon
  • 1 pound ground chuck
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter
  • 4 large eggs
  • 4 hamburger buns, split, lightly toasted
  • 4 leaves iceberg lettuce
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese
Instructions:
  • Combine mayonnaise and Thousand Island dressing in a small bowl to create a flavorful spread. Set aside for later use.
  • Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until crisp, for 8 to 10 minutes. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  • Divide the ground chuck into 3 portions and shape each portion into a patty. Use a small glass to create a hole in the center of each patty, forming a donut shape. Combine any leftover meat to make a fourth donut-shaped burger. Season all patties generously with salt and pepper.
  • Heat up a cast iron skillet until it sizzles. Melt some delicious butter in it. Place burgers and cook for 2 minutes per side. Now, crack an egg into the center of each burger. Cover the skillet and let the eggs cook until the whites are firm, about 4 to 5 minutes. Enjoy your scrumptious creation!
  • Spread the bottom hamburger buns with the spread of your choice. Stack lettuce, a burger patty, 2 slices of bacon, 1 slice of Cheddar cheese, and the top bun to assemble each burger.
