Festive eggnog-flavored snickerdoodles with a hint of rum and brandy extracts for a tasty twist on a classic cookie!
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 0.5 cup shortening
  • 0.5 teaspoon rum extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon brandy extract
  • 2.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.25 cup colored sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together sugar, butter, shortening, eggs, rum extract, and brandy extract until smooth. Stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt until dough is just combined.
  • Combine vibrant colored sugar with aromatic nutmeg in a small bowl.
  • Shape dough into 1 1/4-inch balls, roll them in colored sugar, and place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes until edges are starting to crisp. Let cool on the baking sheet for 1 minute, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
