Elevate your appetizer game with Havarti and fig toasts - fancy yet easy, ready in just 20 minutes.
Ingredients:
  • 24 slices (1/2 inch thick) baguette French bread (about 8 oz)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 8 oz Havarti cheese, cut into 24 slices
  • 6 dried figs, cut lengthwise into quarters
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 425°F. Place bread slices on a large ungreased cookie sheet and lightly brush the tops with oil.
  • Bake the bread for 5 to 6 minutes until it's just starting to turn golden brown. Then, flip the slices over and place 1 cheese slice on top of each. Bake for an additional 2 to 3 minutes, or until the cheese starts to melt.
  • Top each cheese-topped toast with a fig quarter, seed side up. Drizzle with honey, sprinkle with pepper, and serve immediately.
