Easy Firehouse Cornbread: Simple recipe with ingredients in threes. Perfect pairing with chili or soup for a satisfying meal.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups cornmeal
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 3 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and give your 15x10x2-inch baking pan a gentle greasing.
  • In a bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix in milk, vegetable oil, and eggs until the batter is well blended. Pour into the prepared baking dish.
  • Bake in the heated oven until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the center of the loaf, approximately 33 minutes.
