Buttery cinnamon-sugar muffins, easy and delicious.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 0.33333334326744 cup shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 6 tablespoons margarine, melted
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and prepare a 12-cup muffin tin with greased cups or paper liners.
  • Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, cream 1/2 cup sugar with shortening, then mix in the egg. Alternately stir in flour mixture and milk into the shortening mixture. Mix well. Spoon batter into muffin cups and bake.
  • Preheat oven and bake muffins for 20-25 minutes. Meanwhile, mix together 1/2 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
  • Take the muffins out of the oven and pan. Dip the tops in melted margarine, then in sugar/cinnamon. Repeat for all muffins. Serve warm.
