Elevate your holiday table with a stunning French onion dip platter.
Ingredients:
  • Vegetables, to serve
  • Assorted crackers, to serve
  • 1kg cream cheese, softened
  • 40g sachet French onion soup mix
  • 250.00 ml grated tasty cheese
  • 82.50 ml finely grated parmesan
  • 82.50 ml chopped sun-dried tomatoes in oil
  • 1 bunch fresh flat-leaf parsley leaves, chopped
  • 6 x 25g packets mini Ritz crackers
  • 250.00 ml almond kernels
  • 150g jar red cocktail onions, drained, halved
  • 80g packet pretzel sticks
  • 1 slice tasty cheese
Instructions:
  • With an electric mixer, whip cream cheese until fluffy, then blend in soup mix until fully incorporated. Mix in grated cheeses and tomato, then season with pepper. Continue beating until well combined. Cover and chill for 1 hour until firm enough to shape.
  • Lay a large piece of plastic wrap on a flat surface. Transfer cheese mixture onto the plastic. Shape the mixture into a tree form with your hands and the plastic wrap, making sure the base is 15cm in diameter. Place the tree on a serving platter.
  • Cover cheese with parsley and remove any excess from the platter. Open 4 packets of crackers. Decorate the tree with almonds, onion, Ritz crackers, and ¾ of the pretzels, following the picture as a guide. Cut a star from the cheese slice using a 4cm star-shaped cutter, and place it on top of the tree. Serve with the remaining pretzel sticks, assorted crackers, and vegetables.
