French onion Christmas tree dip recipe

Elevate your Christmas spread with a stunning French onion dip tower.
Ingredients:
  • 1kg cream cheese, softened
  • 40g sachet French onion soup mix
  • 250.00 ml grated tasty cheese
  • 82.50 ml finely grated parmesan
  • 82.50 ml chopped sun-dried tomatoes in oil
  • 1 bunch fresh flat-leaf parsley leaves, chopped
  • 6 x 25g packets mini Ritz crackers
  • 250.00 ml almond kernels
  • 150g jar red cocktail onions, drained, halved
  • 80g packet pretzel sticks
  • 1 slice tasty cheese
  • Assorted crackers, to serve
  • Vegetables, to serve
Instructions:
  • With an electric mixer, whip the cream cheese until fluffy, then mix in the soup mix until well combined. Add the grated cheeses and tomato, season with pepper, and continue mixing until well blended. Chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour until firm enough to shape.
  • Lay a large piece of plastic wrap on a flat surface. Transfer the cheese mixture onto the plastic. Shape the mixture into a tree form using the plastic wrap and your hands, ensuring the base measures 15cm in diameter. Transfer the cheese tree onto a serving platter.
  • - Cover cheese with parsley, then remove any extra parsley from platter. - Unwrap 4 packets of crackers. - Arrange almonds, onion, Ritz crackers, and ¾ of the pretzels on the tree following the picture as a guide. - Cut a star shape out of the cheese slice using a 4cm star-shaped cutter, then place it on the top of the tree. - Serve with the leftover pretzel sticks, assorted crackers, and vegetables.
