French onion curried sausages: Budget-friendly twist on a classic recipe using Coles BBQ Sausages and French onion soup mix for added flavor. Includes added veggies for a nutritious touch. Perfect for families.
Ingredients:
  • 190g (1 cup) couscous
  • 250ml (1 cup) boiling water
  • 18.40 gm vegetable oil
  • 560g pkt Simply Thin BBQ Sausages
  • 2 small brown onions, sliced into thin wedges
  • 2 carrots, peeled, halved, thickly sliced diagonally
  • 2 trimmed celery sticks, thickly sliced
  • 10.00 gm mild curry powder
  • 40g pkt Simply French Onion Soup Mix
  • 150g (1 cup) frozen peas
Instructions:
  • In a large heatproof bowl, combine couscous and boiling water. Stir well, cover, and let sit for 5 minutes until liquid is absorbed. Fluff the couscous with a fork to separate the grains, then season to taste.
  • Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook sausages for 5-6 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned all over. Place on a heatproof plate and let cool for 2 minutes. Slice sausages diagonally before serving.
  • In a hot frying pan, sauté onion, carrot, and celery until onion softens. Stir in garlic and curry powder until aromatic. Mix in soup mix and water until it simmers. Finally, add sausage and peas, and stir until heated through.
  • Pair the flavorful curried sausages with a side of fluffy couscous for a perfect meal combination.
