Seasonal custard dessert featuring farm-fresh fruit.
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/4 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons orange-flavored liqueur
  • 3 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries
  • 2 tablespoons apple jelly
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 450°F. Mix crust ingredients in a bowl until a soft dough forms. Press dough firmly and evenly into an ungreased 9-inch square tart pan using lightly floured fingers. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Allow crust to cool for 15 minutes, then reduce oven temperature to 325°F.
  • Combine granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, and salt in a medium bowl. Whisk in whipping cream, liqueur, and 3 eggs until smooth. Pour the mixture into the partially baked crust.
  • Bake for 30 minutes or until the custard is fully set (expect the filling to puff up while baking, then shrink back down once cooled). Allow it to cool completely in the pan on a cooling rack for about 3 hours.
  • Place the fruit decoratively over the custard. In a small microwave-safe bowl, heat the jelly uncovered on High for 30 seconds or until melted. Brush the melted jelly over the fruit. Chill in the refrigerator.
