Vibrant turmeric-ginger paste with coconut oil adds colorful, spicy flair to any dish or beverage.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1 (2 inch) piece fresh turmeric root, peeled and grated
  • 1 (1 inch) piece fresh ginger, peeled and grated
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
  • 0.33333334326744 cup water, divided
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan, mix coconut oil, turmeric root, ginger root, and black pepper. Pour in half of the water and cook over medium heat until small bubbles appear around the edges, about 1 to 2 minutes. Lower the heat to medium-low and stir constantly while gradually adding the rest of the water until a paste forms, about 5 to 8 minutes.
  • Place the paste in a glass container, let it cool to room temperature, seal the container tightly with a lid, and refrigerate.
