Frosted Nutmeg Cookies Chex Mix

Enjoy a delectable Nutmeg Frosted Mix, celebrating the rich history of this prized spice from Connecticut, the Nutmeg State.
Ingredients:
  • 4 cups Rice Chex™ cereal
  • 2 cups Wheat Chex™ cereal
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup from 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting
Instructions:
  • Combine the cereals in a large microwave-safe bowl.
  • Place butter in a 2-cup microwavable measuring cup and microwave uncovered on High for about 30 seconds until melted. Add brown sugar, vanilla, and nutmeg, and stir. Microwave uncovered on High for about 30 seconds until hot, then stir. Pour over cereal mixture, ensuring it is evenly coated. Microwave uncovered on High for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring every minute until the mixture begins to brown. Spread the mixture on waxed paper or foil to cool.
  • In a small microwavable bowl, microwave the frosting uncovered on High for 15 to 20 seconds until it's melted. Drizzle the melted frosting over the cereal mixture and refrigerate for 15 to 20 minutes until it sets.
