Decadent frozen hot chocolate made with creamy milk, ice, and rich double chocolate sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 (12 ounce) package milk chocolate chips
  • 0.75 cup white sugar
  • 0.75 cup instant hot chocolate mix
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 (12 fluid ounce) cans evaporated milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 cups ice
  • 1 cup cold milk
Instructions:
  • Combine semisweet chocolate chips, milk chocolate chips, sugar, hot chocolate mix, and butter in a double boiler over simmering water. Stir occasionally, making sure to scrape the sides with a rubber spatula to prevent burning, until chocolate chips begin to melt, approximately 5 minutes.
  • Gradually blend evaporated milk into the chocolate mixture until half of the chocolate chips are melted, approximately 3 minutes. Remove from heat and keep stirring until the sauce is smooth and velvety, around 2 minutes more. Stir in vanilla extract. Allow the sauce to cool to room temperature, which should take at least 20 minutes.
  • In a blender, combine 1 cup of chocolate sauce, 4 cups of ice, and 1 cup of milk. Blend until smooth, then divide the mixture into 2 glasses. Store the extra sauce in the refrigerator for later use.
