Fructose Sugar Cookies

Sweeten with fructose, chill dough 24 hours for best results.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1.3333333730698 tablespoons ground cloves
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1.3333333730698 tablespoons ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups shortening
  • 1 cup fructose (fruit sugar)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
Instructions:
  • Combine the flours, baking soda, cream of tartar, cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, cream shortening and fructose together. Beat in eggs, lemon zest, and dry ingredients. Mix until well blended. Cover the dough and refrigerate for 24 hours before using.
  • 1. Preheat the oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and give your cookie sheets a quick grease. 2. Spoon the dough onto the cookie sheets, spacing them 1 1/2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until lightly golden. Allow to cool on wire racks.
