Vibrant Christmas shortbread cookies to elevate your holiday baking.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.66666668653488 cup candied cherries, halved
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions:
  • Combine the butter and sugar until creamy. Mix in the yolk and flour. Gently fold in the fruit and nuts. Shape the dough into two 2-inch diameter rolls and wrap them in waxed paper. Refrigerate overnight.
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Slice the dough into thin slices (1/8 inch thick) while still cold and covered with wax paper. Place the slices on greased cookie sheets, remove the wax paper, and bake for 10 minutes until the edges are slightly browned.
