Indulgent fudgy bars with devil's food cake, chocolate chips, and crunchy pecans.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Devil's Food Cake Mix
  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/4 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (or 325°F for dark or nonstick pan) and spray the bottom of a 13x9-inch pan with baking spray that contains flour. Place 1/2 cup of the cake mix in a medium bowl and set it aside.
  • Combine the leftover cake mix, 1/3 cup of butter, vanilla, and 1 egg in a large bowl. Use an electric mixer on low speed until mixture becomes crumbly. Press the dough into the pan and top with chocolate chips, gently pressing them into the dough.
  • Combine the melted butter and 2 eggs with the reserved cake mix, then beat on medium speed until smooth. Mix in the pecans and spread the mixture over the crust.
  • Bake for 24 to 28 minutes until the center is set. Allow to cool completely for about 1 hour. Sprinkle powdered sugar on top, cut into 8 rows by 4 rows for bars, and store covered.
