Bring the carnival to your kitchen with this easy homemade funnel cake recipe!
Ingredients:
  • 3.6666667461395 cups all-purpose flour, divided
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 1 quart vegetable oil for frying, or as needed
  • 2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar, or as needed
Instructions:
  • In a medium bowl, combine half of the flour with the baking powder and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, and sugar until smooth. Gradually mix in the flour until the batter is runny enough to flow through a funnel, adding just enough flour to reach the desired consistency.
  • In an 8-inch skillet, bring 1 inch of oil to a temperature of 375°F (190°C).
  • Cover the bottom opening of a funnel and pour a generous 1/2 cup batter into it. Drizzle batter into hot oil in a circular motion until the bottom is golden brown, 1 to 2 minutes. Carefully flip cake using tongs and a wide spatula and fry until the other side is golden brown, approximately 1 minute. Drain cake on a plate lined with paper towels and dust with confectioners' sugar. Repeat with the rest of the batter.
