Elevate chocolate cupcakes with festive pretzel and candy toppings for game day.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Devil's Food Cake Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
  • 1 tub (12 oz) Betty Crocker™ Whipped Fluffy White Frosting
  • Betty Crocker™ gel food color
  • Betty Crocker™ Decorating Decors stars
  • 1 tube (4.25 oz) Betty Crocker™ white decorating icing
  • 24 milk chocolate covered almonds (from 3 oz box)
  • 4 rolls Betty Crocker™ Fruit Roll-Ups® chewy fruit snack, any flavor (from 5-oz box)
  • 24 thin pretzel sticks
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pans) and line 24 regular-size muffin pans with paper baking cups.
  • Prepare and bake the cake mix as instructed on the box to make 24 cupcakes. Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to cooling racks. Let them cool completely for about 30 minutes.
  • Divide 3/4 cup of frosting equally between two small bowls. Mix your desired food color into each bowl and stir until well combined. Spread the frosting over the cupcakes and top with star-shaped sprinkles. Use decorator frosting to pipe laces on almonds for footballs. Cut each fruit snack into 6 triangles and wrap them around one end of each pretzel to make flags. Decorate each cupcake with a football and flag. Store the cupcakes loosely covered.
