Garlic butter bathed fluffy scones.
Ingredients:
  • 150g Certified Organic Salted Butter, chopped, plus 50g, extra, at room temperature
  • 4 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 40.00 ml finely chopped fresh continental parsley leaves
  • 375g (2 ½ cups) self-raising flour
  • 450ml buttermilk
  • 40g (½ cup) coarsely grated cheddar
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 220°C (200°C fan forced) and generously grease a 5cm-deep, 18 x 25cm baking dish.
  • Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in garlic and parsley. Set aside 2 tablespoons of the butter mixture and pour the rest into the prepared dish.
  • In a large bowl, create a well in the center of the flour. Pour in the buttermilk and add salt. Gently mix until just combined. Spread the dough into the prepared dish using the back of a spoon, allowing the butter to ooze over the top.
  • Slice the dough into 12 squares using a pizza cutter. Drizzle the reserved butter mixture over the squares and sprinkle each with cheese. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown and risen. Allow to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then serve with extra butter. Check out our instructional video for this tasty Garlic Bread Butter Bath Scones recipe!
