Popular German vegetable, kohlrabi, cooked with salt, sugar, and a touch of cream for a simple and delicious dish.
Ingredients:
  • 2 kohlrabi, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon white sugar
  • 0.25 cup heavy whipping cream, or more to taste
Instructions:
  • In a pot, mix together kohlrabi, salt, and sugar. Let it sit until the kohlrabi releases liquid, approximately 5 minutes.
  • Seal pot and bring to a gentle boil over medium heat. Give the pot a occasional shake to prevent sticking. Cook for approximately 4 minutes. Gently fold in cream and simmer for an additional 30 seconds, being careful not to let it boil.
