Indulge in a flavorful German plum cake with a tasty crumble topping, perfect alone or paired with creamy vanilla ice cream.
Ingredients:
  • 0.25 cup butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 25 plums, pitted and halved
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup cold butter, cut into cubes
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a bowl, cream together white sugar, softened butter, and eggs until creamy. In another bowl, whisk 2 cups of flour with baking powder. Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and gently combine. Press the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  • Place plums elegantly on top of the butter mixture in the baking dish.
  • Combine brown sugar, 2 cups flour, and 1/2 cup cold butter in a bowl until it forms a crumbly texture. Spread this delicious crumble over the plums in the baking dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour 30 minutes, until the cake is set and plums are soft. Let it cool for 1 hour before slicing.
