Beef-filled crispy wontons with water chestnuts, fried to perfection.
Ingredients:
  • 2 (14 ounce) packages small won ton wrappers
  • 1.5 pounds ground beef
  • 1 (8 ounce) can water chestnuts, drained and minced
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 2 dashes Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.25 cup vegetable oil
Instructions:
  • In a large frying pan, sear the beef in 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil until golden brown. Add water chestnuts, onion, celery, and Worcestershire sauce, gently mix to combine without cooking the vegetables. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Spoon a tablespoon of the beef mixture onto the center of each wonton wrapper. Fold and roll the wrapper around the filling, mimicking the shape of an egg roll.
  • Heat the oil in an electric deep fryer or a heavy saucepan to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C. Fry the rolls until golden brown, working in batches for consistent cooking. Drain cooked rolls on paper towels and serve warm.
