Bake deliciously spooky spice cookies loaded with candies and chocolate chips.
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 3 tablespoons mild-flavor (light) molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 3 1/4 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting
  • 5 drops green food color
  • 1/3 cup M&M's® chocolate candies (72 candies)
  • 3/4 cup candy corn (72 candies)
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to blend sugar, butter, and molasses until smooth. Add egg and milk, then mix well. Fold in flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and cardamom until a dough forms. Divide the dough into 2 portions, shape each into a 4-inch disk, wrap in plastic, and chill in the fridge for about an hour or in the freezer for 15 minutes until firm.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Roll out each dough disk on a floured surface into a 12x9-inch rectangle. Cut each rectangle into 3 rows by 6 rows to create 18 smaller rectangles, placing them 1 inch apart on an ungreased large cookie sheet. Bake for 6 to 8 minutes until set. Transfer immediately to a cooling rack. Allow to cool completely for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Combine the frosting and food color in a small bowl until fully mixed. Spread slightly less than 1 tablespoon of frosting on each cookie. Place 2 candy-coated candies on each cookie for eyes and add 2 candy corn pieces for the neck "bolts."
  • 1. Place chocolate chips in a small resealable freezer bag and seal it. Microwave on High for 30 to 45 seconds or until softened. Massage the bag until the mixture is smooth. If needed, microwave for an additional 30 seconds until all chips are melted. Snip a small tip from one corner of the bag and drizzle the melted chips on cookies for hair and mouth.
