Try quick and flavorful sesame shrimp marinated in a ginger garlic soy sauce, perfect for a fast and delicious meal! Simply stir-fry and enjoy!
Ingredients:
  • Marinade:
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (use gluten-free soy sauce for gluten-free version)
  • 2 tablespoons seasoned rice vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dark sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced (about 1 tablespoon)
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • Shrimp:
  • 1 pound 16-20 count shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon peanut oil or canola oil
  • 3 green onions, including onion greens, sliced on the diagonal
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, toasted
Instructions:
  • Combine soy sauce, seasoned rice vinegar, brown sugar, olive oil, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger in a bowl. Add shrimp and coat well with the marinade. Refrigerate until cooking.
  • Toast the sesame seeds in a small sauté pan over medium-high heat until they turn a light golden brown.
  • Heat oil in a large non-stick sauté pan or wok until shimmering hot. Carefully transfer shrimp from marinade to the pan (watch out for splatters). Stir-fry for 1 minute, then add half the green onions. Cook until shrimp are pink and cooked through, no more than 2 minutes in total.
  • Enhance the marinade: Transfer the shrimp to a serving bowl. Simmer the remaining marinade in the hot pan until it thickens into a syrup.
  • Pour the flavorful sauce generously all over the succulent shrimp, ensuring they are well coated. Delicately sprinkle toasted sesame seeds and the rest of the green onions on top. Serve promptly alongside rice, soba noodles, rice noodles, bok choy, spinach, broccoli, or asparagus for a delightful meal.
