Easy homemade dumplings with garlic ginger pork filling and soy sesame dipping sauce made in a pie maker.
Ingredients:
  • 500g pork mince
  • 3 green shallots, finely sliced, plus extra to serve
  • 2 tsp finely grated ginger
  • 21.00 gm soy sauce
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 30g baby spinach leaves, finely chopped
  • 24 round gow gee wrappers
  • Vegetable oil
  • Toasted sesame seeds, to serve
  • Soy sauce, for dipping
Instructions:
  • Mix pork, shallots, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, and sesame oil together in a bowl until well combined using your hands. Incorporate spinach into the mixture. Divide into 12 equal portions.
  • Place 4 gow gee wrappers on a board. Spoon pork mixture onto the center of each wrapper. Brush edges lightly with water. Top with another wrapper, flatten, and press edges together. Crimp the pastry all around to seal. Repeat with remaining wrappers.
  • Grease the pie maker cavities and preheat. Fill each hole with a dumpling, then generously brush with water. Close the pie maker and cook for 4 minutes. Brush the tops with more water and cook for an additional 4 minutes until the dumplings are cooked through, with a steamed top and crisp bottom.
  • Continue making 8 additional dumplings. Serve alongside soy sauce for dipping and garnish with toasted sesame seeds and shallots.
