Delight your family with flavorful and aromatic spicy sweet muffins.
Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • Decorator sugar crystals, if desired
  • 1/2 cup white vanilla baking chips, melted, if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 400°F and grease only the bottoms of 12 regular-size muffin cups with shortening or place a paper baking cup in each muffin cup.
  • In a large bowl, mix together brown sugar, molasses, milk, oil, and egg until well combined. Add the rest of the ingredients, except for the decorator sugar crystals and melted baking chips, and stir until the flour is just moistened. Divide the batter equally among the muffin cups and sprinkle with sugar crystals. Enjoy!
  • Bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove from pan and place on a cooling rack. Allow to cool completely for about 30 minutes before drizzling with melted baking chips.
