Glazed Almond Cookies

Delicate almond tea cookies with halved almonds pressed on top for an elegant touch.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon almond extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.75 cup chopped blanched almonds
  • 2.6600000858307 cups sifted cake flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 2 egg whites
  • 48 almonds
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) while you generously grease your cookie sheets.
  • In a medium bowl, mix butter and sugar until light. Add almond and vanilla extracts along with egg yolks. Stir in chopped almonds, flour, and salt. Roll dough into 1-inch balls, dip in egg whites, then place on a cookie sheet. Press a whole almond on top of each ball to flatten slightly before baking.
  • Bake until edges turn golden brown, for 8-10 minutes in the preheated oven.
