Soy-glazed green beans with brandy cream sauce, topped with crispy bacon - a savory and luxurious steak side.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound green beans, trimmed
  • 4 strips bacon
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brandy
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream
  • 0.5 teaspoon brown sugar
Instructions:
  • Place the steamer insert in a saucepan, fill with water just below the steamer bottom, and bring to a boil. Add green beans, cover, and steam for about 7 minutes until bright green and tender but still crisp. Drain in a colander.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the bacon, turning occasionally, until perfectly browned, for approximately 10 minutes. Transfer the crispy bacon slices to paper towels to drain.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the garlic in the bacon grease until fragrant, approximately 30 seconds.
  • Once you've adjusted the heat, introduce the soy sauce, brandy, cream, and brown sugar into the mix. Let it simmer until the liquid begins to bubble and thicken, about 3 to 5 minutes. Then, simply remove it from the heat.
  • Stir green beans into the flavorful sauce in the skillet until well coated. Serve promptly and sprinkle with crispy cooked bacon on top.
