Try these adorable pumpkin-shaped cookies made with Betty Crocker™ Sugar Cookie Mix for a spooktacular Halloween treat!
Ingredients:
  • 1 pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ Sugar Cookie Mix
  • Flour, butter and egg called for on cookie mix pouch for cutout cookies
  • 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 8 hard round butterscotch candies, unwrapped, crushed
  • 8 hard round cinnamon candies, unwrapped, crushed
Instructions:
  • Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl, excluding the candies, and mix with a spoon. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Roll out dough on a floured surface to 1/8 inch thickness. Use a 3 1/2-inch pumpkin-shaped cookie cutter to cut out shapes. Place the cutouts about 2 inches apart on the prepared cookie sheet. Use small cookie cutters or a paring knife to create eyes, nose, and mouth in a jack-o'-lantern style.
  • Fill each cutout hole to the brim with crushed candies, ensuring they touch the dough on all sides. Use a 1/4-teaspoon measure for precise filling.
  • Bake for 8 to 9 minutes until candy is melted and cookies are firm. Let candies harden for about 4 minutes. Transfer from baking sheet to cooling rack and cool for 30 minutes.
