Pre-bake gluten-free pizza crust for improved texture before adding toppings.
Ingredients:
  • 0.75 cup gluten-free all purpose baking flour
  • 0.25 cup garbanzo bean flour
  • 0.25 cup cornstarch
  • 0.25 cup tapioca starch
  • 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon xanthan gum
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1 cup lukewarm water
  • 1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
  • 1.5 teaspoons olive oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 0.5 teaspoon minced garlic
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 425°F (220°C) and give your 15-inch pizza pan a quick spray with cooking oil.
  • Combine all-purpose baking flour, garbanzo bean flour, cornstarch, tapioca starch, Parmesan cheese, baking powder, xanthan gum, Italian seasoning, oregano, and salt in a bowl; reserve for later.
  • In a small bowl, mix 1 teaspoon of white sugar into lukewarm water until dissolved. Sprinkle yeast on top and let it sit until foamy, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  • In a separate bowl, combine beaten egg with olive oil, vinegar, 1 teaspoon of sugar, and garlic until smooth. Whisk in the yeast mixture, then stir in the flour mixture until no dry lumps remain. Press the dough into the prepared pan, keeping the outer edge slightly thicker than the center.
  • Bake in a hot oven until the dough has puffed up and slightly set, about 10 to 12 minutes.
  • After adding your favorite toppings, bake at 425°F (220°C) until the crust turns golden brown, about 20-30 minutes. For a crispier crust, transfer the pizza from the pan directly onto the oven rack and bake for an additional 5 minutes.
